This is what the house (and the store my dad used to run) used to look like... The store is seen front-center, and the house is behind the store, and a bit to the right.
I dont have too many memories of our life in Tijuana, but I do remember playing around the metal bars on my dad's truck, as if they were monkey bars...My sister Sayra recently visited the place we used to live at - The picture below shows a small wooden house (I believe this is part of the house we used to live in). It also shows a new brick house that another one of my Uncles is building. Also, I must point out that the little wooden building on the far left is the out-house, still in use!

Having said all that, my Uncle Berna (short for Bernardino), has been sick for quite some time, so I flew to San Jose on the 20th, to meet with my parents, Julio and Sayra so we could spend some time with him, grandma, and some aunts/uncles. I reqlly wish I had a camera with me, because it's been about 11 years since I last saw any of them, and almost 20 years since I had las seen Berna. The mini family reunion was nice, eventhough the circumstances could have been much better. I'm glad I made the trip, even if it was very short.
Julio and I drove to San Diego (with parents in tow) on Friday night, into Saturday morning. It was a very tiring drive, but we made it to SD at 6:30am, safe and sound.
