In the last 2-3 weeks, Derek has become an absolute "Daddy's boy". It's pretty annoying, when he can't stop asking me all day long "daddy work?" "where daddy?" - I can't imagine going through this if i were single, or divorced. At least I can honestly answer with "yes, daddy's at work" or "he'll be home soon"... Jeff hasn't mowed the lawn in quite a while because of his crazy work hours, so the project took him about an hour longer than usual. I had to hold Derek for a long time, because he wanted to be with Jeff while he mowed. Finally, this little boy was very happy for a good 10-15 minute ride with his dad:
After dinner, we took the boys back outside to go play with the BB gun. It was the first time that Jeff showed it to the boys, so he made sure he gave them the full "gun safety 101" shpiel before they were allowed to shoot:
The boys did pretty good with the safety part. I kept testing them by standing between them and the target, and Ben would tell me to go stand behind them, because it's dangerous. :) I couldn't be more proud of all 3 of them! We had a really good time, until the mosquitoes got really violent and we had to seek shelter...
