We knew this would be the longest day of or west-bound trip. We started at 6:50 Central, and arrived at around 6:00 Mountain. I drove through most of Nebraska and Jeff drove through most of Colorado. We really enjoyed driving through the Rockies, especially the tunnels and twists in the road.
We ate lunch shortly after arriving in Colorado, under this teepee:
The boys didn't watch too many movies, and they both took a nap in the car, which is an extremely rare thing nowadays.
The hotel looked new on the outside, but the inside was no match for it. The room was tiny and had a funny smell. Thankfully we didn't spend much time in the room. We went for a walk down the hill to a 50's diner. It was one of the best meals we've had in a while, and we enjoyed the walk back to the hotel afterwards.
At the pool, the boys played with a 9 year old boy named Jackson. His family was going from Virginia to Arizona. We went to bed pretty early because the next day would be another long drive.
